LOCATION SEARCH

Long term users of the Ryerson Index may recall that there used to be a facility to search for records which contained a specific location. This search was particularly valuable for local historians and others who have an interest in a specific area. Unfortunately various constraints within the system meant that it had to be discontinued.

However Ryerson Index Inc decided to re-introduce this facility, but functioning in a different way. Instead of it being an on-line search it will operate by means of email requests which will be answered by a volunteer who will conduct an off-line search of a copy of the database.

You may request a search for a range of years in up to 5 locations. For example a request may be for 2000 to 2005 in Milton and Ulladulla. This search would produce 580 results as at October 2011. The results will be provided as a simple Excel file containing surname, given names, date of death, age and all of the location fields (i.e. at, late of and formerly of).
